Just started doing this a few days ago.

thats pretty cool other then the triangels its looking good so far. a harddrive will be interesting to light cos of the materials and textures you would use

really thats what you seemed pretty good at. well if you are trying to put text and stuff on it might be a challenge cos of the mesh and UVs and stuff well best of luck should be fun non the less.:P

Very nice. Make it a tiny bit shorter and add the a motor for the read/write heads in one corner. Also the read/write heads need to reach accross the entire disc. But hey, awesome nonetheless! :D

Hey thanks for the advice the arm in the pic isn't the read/write bit its just like a guide this is the drive I'm modeling.[link] still need to do the motor and the read/write heads

omg awesome!! Dont see much computer hardware if any at all modelled. are you using booleans to model those holes etc? Coz if it was me i'd stay clear (but that's a personal issue) cos i just hate the messy meshes they produce even though they are the most useful things ever XD

Hey thanks, To make some of the holes i used booleans because it would have taken ages to model them in by hand but they are all editable still so i can take them out if need be.
